Home of the Lansell boys and nannies, the nursery was a hive of activity. The Mansard attic was the playroom which once housed a fully fledged carousel
and a walk in doll’s house!
George and Edith Lansell had five boys; Leonard, George, Horace, Eric and Cyril.
Leonard Lansell was a very well respected colonel in the army and died in Toorak at the age of 75. Sir George Lansell was a businessman, liberal plitician and philanthropist. He was chairman of the Sandhurst Trustees and owned several newspapers.
Horace Lansell was a grazier in Moulamien and Serpentine and served in WW1 with distinction. Eric Lansell sadly died from leukaemia at the age
of ten years old (1891-1901).
Cyril Lansell (the youngest) was a farmer based in Corowa with an extensive land holding.
Alot of fun was to be had in between these walls.
